curriculum
We use the Montessori approach in our curriculum delivery.
Our curriculum is a developed integrated curriculum. We use English as the medium of instruction right across the different levels. We emphasize the learning of good, correct usage of English both orally and in written form. Grammar is at the heart of our language teaching and students are encouraged to observe the conventions of good grammar usage.
Melton Grammar School uses the recommended framework of the Department of Education in Papua New Guinea. Our subjects are modelled from this curriculum framework however, the content is much more enhanced especially for major fields like English, Mathematics and Science, including cultural subjects, where all are integrated to cater for the higher levels and needs of our students to meet our high standards.
Most of our resources are teacher-made. Workbooks and activity books are child-centred to ensure that objective assessment is provided for every child. Our assessment is also progressive in nature. Children are assessed on what they have learned and skills they have acquired in a periodic duration.
